Jay Colbert started with The Polis Center as an intern performing a variety of tasks including geodatabase creation/maintenance, geocoding, digitizing, and data import and analysis. Colbert imported and manipulated data and created and modified non-spatial databases.
Project Experience:
In his role as GIS project manager, Jay uses GIS technology to help organizations visualize and analyze data. Several of the maps he produced have been presented at conferences and included in publications. He is currently responsible for all data development on the SAVI community information system (www.savi.org). Jay has also made presentations at conferences and university classrooms on how SAVI can be used for improving community-based decision making.
